Price Per Page for Proofing Parts is a new capability that extends page-based pricing to personalizable products, giving you flexible pricing options for customizable items with variable page counts.
Previously, the Price Per Page feature was only available for upload parts where users submitted PDF files. Now, you can also enable this pricing model for non-upload parts that use soft proofing projects—products that users personalize through the proofing workflow.
This means that when users customize a product during the proofing stage, the final price in their cart will automatically reflect the actual number of pages in their personalized proof. If a user’s design choices result in a 12-page booklet versus an 8-page booklet, the price adjusts accordingly.
Benefits to the client
- Fair and Transparent Pricing: Charge customers based on the actual page count of their personalized products, ensuring pricing accurately reflects production costs.
- Flexible Product Options: Offer personalizable products where users can create varying page counts based on their content needs, with automatic price adjustments.
- Clear User Communication: When browsing the storefront, users will see pricing displayed as “$_ Page” instead of “$_ ea.” or “$_ per Pack,” making the pricing model immediately clear.
How It Works
To enable Price Per Page on a personalizable product:
- Navigate to Part > Parts in the back end and select the product you want to edit.
- In the Workflow Options settings, ensure the Print Workflow Part setting is set to “Yes”.
- In the Upload Options section, set both Enable Preflight and Price Per Page to “Yes”.
- Click Save.

Once configured, when users order this part and go through the proofing flow, the price in their cart will reflect the number of pages shown in the proofing stage, multiplied by the price per page set in your pricelist.
Note: Price Per Page for proofing parts also supports price breaks, meaning you can offer volume-based discounts where the price per page decreases as page count increases.
