There is a new portal-level setting that will disable search predictions on the front-end.
Enabling this setting will cause the search function to no longer auto-load predictions as a user types in the search bar. The storefront search will otherwise work as usual and will still return the same results based on the user’s inputs.
Benefits to the Client
- Turn off search predictions for a client’s storefront.
- Simplify front-end searches by removing the predictive search results function.
How It Works
To turn off front-end search predictions:
- From the back-end, go to Portals / Select a Customer / Settings.
- In the User Experience section, find the option called Disable Search Predictions.
- Set this option to “Yes”.
- Click Save.
